| ERNA is thrilled
to welcome on board a new sponsor for their State League No
1 Team for the 2008 season. Mr John Loughlin of Courtcraft
Plexipave committed to sponsoring the team for the 2008 season
and was impressed by the dedication shown by the players and
coaching staff. The team were runners up in the Waratah Cup
in 2007 and had Anita Keelan named as coach of the year and
Joanne Day named as the State League player of the year. The
team has already started training for the new season which
commences in early April and the additional funds will ensure
the players have every opportunity to further develop their
netball skills.
Courtcraft Plexipave does a wonderful job in our community.
They were responsible for the surfacing of ERNA netball courts
many years ago and most recently resurfacing of Sydney Olympic
Park Tennis Centre. Courtcraft also produce children’s
soft rubber playgrounds in schools, parks and McDonalds. They
are involved in resurfacing grass soccer fields, lights, drainage
- in fact anything to do with sports. The company has been
a long time supporter of Netball, sponsoring the NSW Night
Interdistrict Competition which is held at the Anne Clark
centre from October – December.
Eastwood Ryde teams performed extremely well in this competition
with Team 1 and 4 both winning their divisions and Team 2
were runners up and Team 3 came in 4th.
At the first Eastwood Ryde Netball Assn council meeting on
Monday night john presented the cheque to the President Anne
Doring and State League players Courtney Rugg and Joanne Day.
