FOUNDATION COACHING COURSE

This course is designed to enhance the knowledge of coaches who are coaching at Club level.
It is an accredited course under the Netball Australia Coaching Accreditation Scheme and provides
training to the large numbers of coaches who are actively involved in netball.

Enrolment Pre-requisites: Minimum age of entry (14 years)
Must be a member of Netball NSW for insurance

Net Set Go
All girls and boys aged between 5 and 7 years of age who would like to learn the basic skills of netball while having lots of fun, are invited to join us at the Eastwood Ryde Netball Association’s Net Set Go Clinic.

8, 9 & 10 year old beginners are also welcome

Australian Sports Commission on line coaching course
Online Coaching Course Now Live!

The Australian Sports Commission is pleased to announce the launch of a new online course for coaches.
The Beginning Coaching General Principles online course has been developed to assist new coaches improve their
basic coaching skills, in particular, those coaches working with children.
Coaches can complete the course in their own time, from the comfort of their own home. It is initially being made
available free of charge to Australian coaches by the Australian Sports Commission.
About the course
The course contains five modules, covering a range of general coaching topics, including the role and
responsibilities expected of a coach, planning, safety, working with parents, communication, group management
and inclusive coaching practices when working with people with a disability or special population groups.
The course takes approximately 6 hours to complete with assessment included at the end of each module.
How to access the course
The Beginning Coaching General Principles course is available from the Australian Sports Commission’s new
online learning portal.
How does this effect your Netball Coaching Accreditation
For those coaches who wish to become accredited, the Beginning Coaching General Principles course provides the
first step towards accreditation. The next step is to complete a sports specific coaching course in order to
achieve accreditation as a coach.
