Welcome to the 2008 season of Netball

Congratulations to the following clubs for supplying our Junior Rep and Development Coaches for 2008 - Alexanders, Carlingford Flames, West Ryde Rovers & Roselea Ladybirds.

As Coaching Convenor for Eastwood Ryde, I have been very busy already trying to fit in as many opportunities for beginner coaches as possible.
I announced at the February Council Meeting, that the new accredited course (Foundation) would not be available for some months. It was for this reason that we have already run two ERNA Development Courses for Beginner Coaches as well as a Netta Clinic prior to the start of the season.

The new levels of coaching accreditation from Netball Australia are shown right. NSW Netball are still revising their coaching course procedure, so we are unable to run accredited courses until this has been finalised

ERNA will be running coaching workshops for coaches on Saturday 12 April, Saturday 3 May, & Saturday 10 May at Meadowbank at set afternoon timeslots. These workshops are free, but you need to book your place through your Club Coaching Convenor

Following is an extract from the Netball NSW website: re Beginning Coaching General Principles

“… Netball NSW has decided to ensure the delivery of the new Foundation Course is available to as many participants as practical in the short term, the Beginning Coaching General Principles online course will be a pre-requisite.
The online course has been developed to assist coaches to learn the basic skills of coaching. It is especially aimed at people coaching children…”

If you are coaching for the first time, and have not been able to attend the courses run to date, please stay tuned to the website for further opportunities. Information regarding all future courses, will be found on the page– Courses, Workshops & Clinics.
Your Club Coaching Convenor will have the training days and times for our Representative teams and all coaches are invited to come to those sessions to watch, listen and learn.
The skills and drills section will grow according to the needs and requests from our club coaches. We will include skill drills and or games for all age groups from our Netta players through to seniors.
